“When choosing a view to paint, I focus first of all on capturing the light. I then focus on colour and texture to create a realistic composition that hopefully exudes atmosphere and connects positively with the viewer.’’

For us both, if we are going to buy a painting we want it to bring back happy memories of places we have often visited. the two paintings we have, a Dartmoor scene and The Great Oak Tree in The National Trust Killerton Park do exactly that for us. Our visitors invariably comment on our 'wonderful paintings'. David has such talent, and incorporates so much detail that the paintings really come alive.'
I love David's work, and only lack of wall space prevents me buying everything he paints! The serenity of his landscapes combined with the tactile way that he paints flowers, grass, trees water and so on, makes me feel like I can step into the painting and be a part of it. I've given my Mum and my brother paintings by David and they are delighted with them.
You have captured the beauty and the stillness of a sunset across the Exe Estuary. the light reflecting off the water as well as the clouds, draws one into the painting and along The Goat Walk. I loved this piece as soon as I saw it. It is magnificent.'
